Boi Taüll 2022 ISMF European Skimo Championships started today Wednesday 9th, with the Sprint competition.
Spanish team obtained a total of six medals (three from Catalan athletes), highlighting the first medal from Banyolí Oriol Cardona, who has shown his great fitness state.
All categories have competed in the race on the same track, except for the men’s senior category which has a longer route. The test began with a two diamonds ascent first section.
Then they had to take off skins and continue loading skis on their backs. After transition section, the participants went down skiing to cross the finish line.
Tomorrow, Thursday 10 February, we will held vertical competition, starting at 2020mts level and reaching Coll de Roies, at 2540mts level. Participants will have to overcome a positive gradient of 540 mts taking advantage of the ski resort slopes.
